I almost forgot to ask, but is anyone else super excited about the prospect of a Netherlands vs Germany final? That would be one for to watch for sure.

Once again we have all underestimated the Germans, the England result doesn't look so bad now!
My problem is what is deemed acceptable by a lot of so called football fans. Diving is disgusting to me, it's the worst part of the sport, but it seems to be almost encouraged in other countries, their biggest heroes are the ones that cheat and con their way through every game. I would like to see harsher punishment for players that fake injuries or dive, FIFA needs to start banning players for persistent diving, maybe if everyone stayed on their feet they might actually learn how to kick this new ball properly.
Cheating is breaking the rules, which he did, he got the right punishment as far as the rules are concerned, but it was wrong in that situation. Down to 10 men for penalties...oh no what a massive blow. 
Apart from stopping a certain game winning goal by handling the ball? I consider that cheating, and it's disgusting that a team should be forced to take a penalty under that amount of pressure, it was definately going in and I hate the fact that the dishonest cheaters are rewarded for it.
Cheating arseholes, the only people that are happy they won are people from their country, and even they should be ashamed. I know people that won money because of the result but still feel gutted by it.

The main problem is the lack of quality English footballers, the government and the FA need to heavily invest in more youth academies, and they should ban English club sides from having their youth academies in other countries. While they are at it they should put more funding into sport psychology, because it's clear that English players have a fear of failure, and when things go against them they let their heads drop. Then we need a long term manager, at least then the players will know if they are fit they will play, and that no matter what happens the rug won't be pulled from under their feet for the next tournament.
DD - interesting you linked to that video, it shows what England lacks, PMA, positive mental attitude, when you're down you need to constantly tell yourself you can win, the moment you drop your head and start thinking "oh no not again" then you might as well not play.

Pearce is the next England manager, they have been grooming him for the job for a while now, what with being the assistant to Capello and manager of the Under 21 team.
Ultimately the best team won, England have once again shown that they are unable to build a decent team, instead they play the big name players no matter how badly they perform. The only players worth keeping from that squad are Johnson, Gerrard, James and Defoe, I would include Crouch but the manager didn't even give him a chance, instead favouring Heskey, a player that could kick a ball and miss the Earth.

Well in my opinion Germany have already shown their best, and since then have gone downhill, and to be honest their best wasn't that great. England however only showed a fraction of their ability in the last game, if they find the form they had in the qualifying stages then never mind Germany, they could be Spain and Brazil easily...but perhaps not Argentina.
The THQ pack is insanely good, you save like £221. It's got Metro 2033, Red Faction 1+2+3, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Dawn of War and Company of Heroes, plus some other random games for just £26! Metro 2033 alone costs more than that.
Crackdown 2
So is anyone really looking forward to this game? The first one was decent, but I never really got into it. I have however been playing the demo of Crackdown 2 on the xbox 360 and the co-op gameplay is stupidly fun. Here is a quick video of me and my mates messing about on the demo...

...the game is out late next month, I have already ordered my copy. The only poor bit of the game is the aiming, you usually end up locking onto a truck in the background rather than the 10 enemies shooting at you infront of it, but the free aiming is easy enough anyway, and to be honest I prefer to pick up the truck and squash the baddies with that instead.

No chance, I want Germany to win the group, because England will take them apart. The pace of the game today was superb, the last 10 minutes were nervous but every player gave it their best and the defenders played their hearts out. The team will build on that performance, there won't be any nerves next time, and the Group D teams won't want to win their bloody group now!
Why was he running at him then? Kaka didn't even look at him, he just put his arm there, not an elbow. In my opinion players should be booked for all simulation, and if they stay down pretending to be injured they should be forced to take treatment off the pitch.
Not being able to get out of the car wasn't a problem for me, it didn't seem to be a problem for the makers of the original either until GTA took the piss out of them.
I think it's a mistake to assume that it's only the working class that buy it, from what I've seen it's mostly middle class people that buy it. A considerable number of my friends are on their final warnings with the police for having cannabis on them, and most of those hold full time jobs and degrees. Infact I know more people that smoke cannabis than tobacco. You might think I just hang around dodgy people, but you ask anyone with a social life these days and they could probably reel off a list of at least a dozen users and probably a few dealers.
Legalise it, at least then it will be safer, also we could recover from the recession by taxing it and tourism would go through the roof.
